Dell Latitude XT

The Dell Latitude XT is a tablet form touch screen laptop and is definitely one of the hottest tablet form touchscreen laptops on the market.  It packs a 12″ screen, is just 1″ thick and weighs under 4lbs making it one of the most portable tablets available.  Dell say they’ve listened to what customers want and this seems to be backed up in such a user-friendly tablet design.

The Latitude XT can be used in conventional laptop mode or put into flat tablet mode with a twist of the screen and indeed this can be done through the inbuilt auto-rotate feature.  In conventional laptop mode you can use the Dell’s full size keyboard.  Screen input options are capacitive touch or the Latitiude XT’s input pen.

Operating system options are Vista or XP Tablet Edition and RAM is available up to 3Gb to cope comfortably with the demands of Vista.  Hard drive options come in at 40, 80 & 120Gb or 32 and 64Gb options for SSD.  This machine could be ready to fly loaded with SSD hard drive and 3Gb of memory.

Battery life is good and the charger unit has been made extra-light for ease of transport. Special features include an optional bump sleeve on the case which will allow you to use the tablet without removing it from the protective case, perfect for use on the move in a taxi or train.

For me the Latitude XT can be summed up in 3 words.  I want one!
